Nextup Invitational 2024 Junior Tournament: Gathering Norway's Top Junior Golfers at Oslo Golfklubb.
Oslo, Norway – On July 22 and 23, 2024, Oslo Golfklubb (Oslo GK) will host the prestigious Nextup Invitational 2024 Junior Tournament. This event, organized by the Nextup Golf Team in collaboration with Oslo GK, aims to bring together Norway's finest junior golfers for a highly competitive and memorable experience on one of the country's premier golf courses.
The Nextup Invitational is designed not only as a competition but also as a unique opportunity for junior golfers to gain invaluable experience and connect with some of the best players in the sport, including Viktor Hovland. The winner of the tournament will have the exclusive chance to participate in an exhibition match with Viktor and two other top players, in front of a large audience and extensive media coverage.

Tournament Format:
- 36-hole Stroke Play: The tournament will be played over two days, with a cut after the first 18 holes. The top 18 players with the lowest scores will advance to the second day. In the event of a tie, a shoot-out will be held on hole 18 to determine the final 18 players.
- Mixed Open Class: All 45 participants, both boys and girls, will compete in a mixed open class but from different tees to ensure fair competition. The tees are set as follows:
- Boys under 19 (G19) – Back tee
- Girls under 19 (J19) – Women's back tee
- Boys under 15 (G15) – Men's tee
- Girls under 15 (J15) – Women's tee
Adjustments may be made to these settings if necessary.
Schedule:
Monday, July 22:
- 11:30 AM: Registration and check-in.
- 12:00 PM: Mandatory general information session.
- 1:00 PM: First round of 18-hole play begins. Players making the cut must stay for equipment distribution and instructions for the next day.
Tuesday, July 23:
- 10:00 AM: Second round of 18-hole play begins.
- 2:30 PM: Possible shoot-out on hole 18.
- 3:00 PM: Prize ceremony and interviews; introduction of players and caddies.
- 3:30 PM: Viktor Hovland and Team NextUp exhibition.
- 5:00 PM: Tee off for the NextUp Match (9 holes).
- 7:30 PM: Prize ceremony and interviews.
- 8:00 PM: Evening festivities continue.
Selection Criteria:
Invitations will be extended based on the Srixon Tour Ranking following Srixon Tour 4:
- Top 15 boys under 19 years old.
- Top 10 girls under 19 years old.
- Top 5 boys under 15 years old.
- Top 5 girls under 15 years old.
- 5 Wild Cards will be awarded by Jørgen Sevilhaug and Peter Kaensche from Oslo GK's junior/elite division.
This event promises to be a significant highlight in the junior golf calendar, offering participants a chance to compete at a high level while also gaining inspiration and mentorship from some of the best players in the game.
